The Ark of The Covenant Spiritual Baptist Church

About us

Our Story

The ARK OF THE COVENANT has been established with the committment to finding, feeding and bringing the lost sheep to greener pastures, winning souls unto his everlasting KINGDOM.

The fundamentals of the Ark of the Covenant Spiritual Baptist Church exist on the teachings of the Spiritual Baptist faith of which the Bible is the foundation of our teachings.  The Ark of the Covenant was originally established at 223 Bowdoin Street, Boston, Massachusetts, on June 18th 1993 by the Overseer Reverend Mother Christine Ashby and Pastor Terrance Ashby.  After some time (7 yrs) the Ministry was then relocated to 4 Intervale Street Dorchester, MA 02121. We remained there until the blessing of heaven was opened unto us, by providing unto us with our perminant home, a place of worship where we now call our own.

On Sun. June 19th 2005 we Consecrated our Santuary of Worship at 373 Washington St. Dorchester, MA 02124. The road has been rough and rugged, the trials and tribulations have been tedious but all the way long it has been God, who was there on our side to carry us through. We thank the Lord for his daily blessing, tender mercies and continued grace.

Within our church community, we have made strides to better ourselves and the surrounding community as we continue to make great advancements. Our latest achievement is the establishment of the Youth Ministry under the direction of Abbess Teacher Maver Ashby. The Youth Ministry is growing stronger as they prepare in their own service the Lord, as he has so instructed.

Our Sunday school children come eager to learn and are encouraged to bring out their own individual talents, as they work together as a group in the studying of the word of God. According to the African Proverb “It takes a village to raise a child”. The book of Isaiah, Chapter 11 verse 6 undoubtedly states that “a little child will lead them”. Therefore, it is our conviction and purpose to direct our children, our future and the community towards an ever changing world. It is our responsibility to teach our children that God is the head of our lives and that our day to day existence is not possible without his Grace.

Your Generosity.
Our Mission.
